A Warmer Calmer British fireworks Championships

So it's the second day,y and a heatwave 5 waon s the horizon; it be too the second of the heatwaves coming through. With my level of work going, it was the actual way to be able to see how my body would cope. Since going to sleep from 3:30 to 4am and then waking up at 7:30am before getting out of bed by about 8am, it was time to carry on and see how this works out for a second day of the Championships. The vlog is below, and this might get delayed to see how things are going.

Insert Vlog here

The day of heat and questions

So getting up and rushing out the door by 8:10, which was not bad; the heat was getting warm already, but then it was on the bus and off to work I go. Usual 3 quid spent for a single and then relaxing and almost dozing my eyes off, which helped with the sunglasses for sure. But then it was time to get to work; I got off and walked my way via back alleys and got into work the usual time, and for me it was trying to semi-wake up but also hydrate since it was going to be hot and all that.

The morning was actually quiet, minus actually having to sort out some orders, which I managed to crack on and end up resolving. Some titles booked in work 1 week later than they arrived, and then it was consultations one after another until 6pm essentially. Which was a back run and also a message from someone potentially about being able to meet but iffy on timings, though it's flexible, and also one other message which was important to me and some closure on one topic, but we'll see.

The Bus in the Heated evenings

Eventually though it was just about 7:09pm and it was time to run to the bus which I just caught the double decked and got top seat first time after the usual £3 spent, which for me was the nice way to enjoy a good view while in this heat and sure the eclipse would have been the ideal time, for me it just was a nicer end to this 2 days of exploration, camera testing and heat of one I’ve never felt before. But this time it was just gonna be me to explore and me to do things in my own time. The journey was peaceful, to be honest, and well, I felt like it was busier on the bus than it was on the roads, and it felt more like last year.

Then it was getting towards town, with mutley getting packed, also the crowds starting to get off, for a change I cained the blogpost, then it was to get off at the stop by armada way, which years ago would have been the one I got off when going to Plymouth on the bus for trips and even how both my Holidays began that length of 8 years ago for my first ever, which this year is the deciding factor of no holiday then maybe its time I changed the oprioity on how life will work, especially as other admin like MTD is getting hard to manage.  So I got off, and it was time to go to the casino for a nice cold drink and maybe some blackjack to take things easy and kill some time.

The casino call exploring to view

So this was the mission: get to the casino and take things easy with a drink, since the usual time I get there it's always busy, but this time it felt dead. The crowds outside were busy on that part of town and the subway opened a new one up, which is quite cool, even with the Alfu shop losing its signs for that to be tilting

Then it was time to enter, and I gave my rucksack to the staff and went up. I got a nice pee done before it was a glass of ice-cold water; it felt so refreshing, but also it was very calm to just close my eyes and relax. The rugby or some league was on TV there, and I was the only person sitting down.

The Water in the casino

Then it was time to get up and try to play blackjack or roulette, but I went to the cashier to get some £5 chips and turns out it ended up changing a tenner to 2 £5 notes since I forgot how it worked out. But it was for me to try, and then my phone buzzed; a customer called, wanted an emergency visit in the next few days. Like CALLING in the actual CASINO. So I walked out to get the phone call sorted before picking my rucksack off, and then time to head to the Hoe.

The Exploring of the Hoe to find our viewpoint

So this was then walking along the back roads to get up to the Hoe, and it was like the way of finally getting to find the place to view and go up. This usually ends up as a view to remember, with the crowds being packed and also passing some of the mini little restaurants. But I eventually made my way up there, and then it was to see the rides in action and test some of the long exposure features, which was more than just the blur of people, like the neon lights that can trail across.

As I wandered around, it felt like a more peaceful tone, maybe since it was earlier and it was not as crowded as the night before. But I explored and then was feeling hungry, so decided to find some, but realised by the time I got to that end of the Hoe or to the Barbican, it would just be a hard time to find the viewpoint from this angle again. So I slowly made my way to the viewpoint from before. Which I took the other steps this time and then a mini bypass before I got to the top of the viewpoint and had to climb my way down.

Then it was my legs in a knot and time to unpack and just rest it easy for the while until the drone display was to happen yet again. But for this best bit, it was time to use a new piece of phone stand to try to make it easier and less chance opf it popping off like the original I used for the Wednesday vlog. This was from a Vheo 360 mounting one i've yet to open to get reviews, so we did a quick showcase.
Then once it was screwed in, some teens were to the left above with their buzzballs, chain smoking; a group were going to arrive.  Which, sad to say, meant there would be a few distractions, such as seeing the drone show and then the displays afterwards.

The Displays

The Drone Show:

Once the tripod stand was on, it gave a bit of a calm bang to it. As they all progressed, the drone show first was an interesting one to show more of the sports type for what Plymouth has to offer as well.  Part of it did get blocked, but it is what it is. But thats also hearing whining about the signal being crap, but it was more that the mast was overwhelmed with devices and it can't handle that many, so smaller networks lose data service when this happens.

The First Display:

Then it was the first display, and it had a weaker feel to it, felt more calm and relaxed when compared to the first day. There were some bangs and usuals, but it just didnt inspire me as much, plus the new stand was a small bit of tint to it as well.

Then it was a shortish break which turned out to be longer due to some delays, and that swayed me off a bit, since worst case it logs in with the issue of the fact it overruns and will miss things connecting, but the trains were behaving much better since actually the winds and clouds were coming to play here on this too. Which meant more tweaking of the tripod, since it almost fell over at some of the intervals too.

The Second display:

Eventually though, it eased off; the second display was sudden, but it was much more colourful than the previous one too, I will admit. It felt like it was more of the Reds and similar colours than the golden, especially the mini fountain sort of style they were going for from the pier itself.

The Final Display:

Eventually it was the end of the second display, wehich for me felt a sign of releif since its just one more to prepare for, since this time i didnt down the bottle of the applied nurution blue raspberry short to not overdo myself and push myself too had since up until 4am the night before was one i didn't want to worry on But after some pics and seeing the Ferry go off into the sea and darkness, the clouds were really picking up and i could feel there was a fair bit of rain tat was wanting to showe bit ti never die at akll. Then soon after the 3rd display was happening, and I really was just waiting for the bangs and the final blast of the affection before it was soon to be the end.

Then it was time to finally pack up and get things together, with the hat squashed and almost the phone case hidden, the dark was its tricky place to find it. But getting it before the walk back

The Walk back to the station

It felt like a walk of shame, but at the same time it was a different route taken this time around. I want the Barican route back since it would be a slight bit less crowded; seeing the night lights of the Barican on the Note 14 Pro Plus  5G is a good sight.

As I walked back, it reminded me of some of the nights out I had, passing one of the alleyways where I dropped the battery for the Ulefone, to passing the court, to even going back near Drake's Circus and then seeing loads at the new bus stops, which even then was still a busy vibe to it. Especially now with the slanted parking angle along with the stops full of people queueing.

Even then, I turned right where TK Maxx used to be to head back to the main shopping area to make my way back; the new Armada Way was still vibey lit, water was flowing, and even with that modern feeling, it was just a much calmer way to walk to semi; actually, I was going to run back to the station to not miss that train.

The view of Armada way after TK MAXX

Eventually, the station was there, traffic was heavy, and I got in without tapping this time, then made my way on that train to end. It was ACTUALLY PAcked intensly, i had to sit on the fold-out seats the 150s usually have by its doors too. But it felt like a repeat of last year in some ways, especially amazing how 2 years in a row, i've managed to get to vlog both days of the fireworks.

The calm home return

So it's been another late evening, would be the 2nd of the 4 evenings in that week (the next 2 days would be longer ones too from that phone call I had to even realise another was about to happen). So it was going to be a tiring few days ahead. But I was typing up what I could using the MacBook again since ther is a bit less slipping on it compared to the Surface Go 2 when typing; it might just be my poor typing in the fast sense. But either way, time was on its way and around midnight I was finally back in the station.

Then it was to get my things and then start waking up and going to the fridge to then see any last ideas before the walk back; there was actually some nice Chicken Curry and a Chicken Satay for microwaving, so I grabbed those as I walked my way up the hill home.

So then I said my goodbye; it's been a contrasting two events for me this year, but some actually have that enjoyment to compare it to. I did think of someone since it was her birthday on this day before the evening too, and we did WhatsApp earlier, so it feels right. But sometimes alone time is a way to just calm things out and away from working, which never happens anyway.
I'll try to get some blog posts done, but it's now to find time to do it since other delays are going to catch up with me.
