A Widemouth First day on the beach

It was the first Monday off f 2017. The catching up of 2016 was done except backing up laptop for vlogs this year. But leaving at around 11:00 Me, Rosie and mum and dad were heading off to a beach. Which after fuel top ups and Reddit comments, we eventually got to Widemouth Bay, with lovely sun, a busy car park and the tide was out. It only took us about an hour but we were finally walking around on the beach.

The beach in the sun

Views of the cliffs

We walked casually, Rosie had her tail wagging up and she was sniffing the sights. The fresh air was there, the wind wasn't that strong and Rosie was having dogs running around her and she had her tail up and it was just those scenic days really. Some dogs did bash into her but excitement to be had with her first time. We went up to the tide and it was a way of making her jump, she was and is afraid of the water, She never wanted to go back to it but didn't mind the shallows. Which the views were stunning.

Bless her, waiting for the balls to play

But eventually it was time to get a lunch break, which there was a cafe along the beach which was busy and also nice and very modern as well, we sat down and ordered food. Me going for a pasty and chips (same as dad) Mum going for a Panamanian and Rosie having bits we feed her :).

The view from the Cafe

The cafe itself

The pasty, chips, beans and mango juice

Then it was resting after eating that for 10 minutes until we decicded to go for a longer walk down the beach. While this was happening, we saw our neighbour who just arrived and we chatted to him for 10 minutes or so before we carried on our walk. With the ball being lost at times and the wind slightly stronger. The dog was enjoying herself and ignored other dogs approaching her.

Views looking north

The rockpools in the glare
We were walking for an hour before we finally made our way back. The sun was bright and near the Reel cinema, there was a smashed up van which was a 3 car pileup and cop and ambulances too.
Then it was finally home and we relaxed as I typed up the blogpost for the resolutions..

Thats a nice quiet start which events like this might happen, it might delay me with getting videos up But i will see what I can do.

A Bank Holiday Burrator Birthday Catch Up

So, this is another catch up blogpost, with some things happening only slightly at the right moments. But to be fair, that week after the Fireworks Championships was quite a busy one, and with this bank holiday now here, the last one before Christmas, it was always a good time to do a catch up with me and this month.

The POWWOW Contest

This was a unique idea that was out on top and basically the company that runs the big screen in Plymouth was hosting a contest to help showcase things to do in the city, so what did I do, i thrashed together a music video (Using Movie Studio due to OSX crashing) which was pretty fun, you can see it below by clicking the link in the tweet.

This apparently will be shown on screen until the 19th or something like that when the judging has finished. Its not going to be heartbreaking if i don't win since its more hype about me on the big screen.

Now thats out the way...

A Sunday for a birthday Walk

Now, this was actually Rosie's 2nd birthday, yes, this dog who bites my shoe, killed my mouse and laptop lead, peeed by my door and now growls at me every day, shes reached this age. Bless her, but she got her new chew as a present which made her slightly happy except when i'm around of course.
I woke up quite late today, well since i was up until 1am with this video and hoping it will be accepted before the competition ended at 11:59 tonight, which of course it did.

The classic lenses while hoping it appears on the site

Now after that it was a good surprise to see a a tweet of my entry and over 5 people retweeting that, i'm impressed and fingers crossed felt it was worth the nearly 2 all nighters. But that was just after a quick 🍔🐷💦💦.
Then it was just internet checking until a roast for lunch and then it was on my way to Burrator after browsing an auction room, there wasn't much going on decent for the bidding, except maybe an ipod and a BOSE speaker dock, then we left and that was 3:40 ish. The weather was cloudy but it was a good walk around and reresher ice lollies are nice as well, I tried pokemon go which didn't pick any stops up but goldeen was around.

And I got home and managed to fix the OSX on my laptop and upgraded it to 10.11 with little trouble, only got the battery manager on it to sort out now. But that is the final trip out of this intresting month of fireworks, days out and busy days at work, the bank holiday monday is my last monday before Christmas time, which is going to be fun since I have Paternity cover to deal with then. But its time to look back on those goals, with only 3 months to go before 2017 :O.

The Goals

Lets recap and check the progress....

  • Try not to fap on mornings when i have work - Its major stress relief and keeps me happy but late for work is late for work.
  • Try to have a Holiday or have a week off from work without being called up at least for one day of it - This is too late on my end, but i've managed to get to 2 phone calls in 2 days
  • Try to meet up with a girl from Feabie - We are not close to this yet
  • Plan a few days out  - Yes, we have done one, one is planned next month :)
  • Tweet More - I'm progressing
  • Snapchat more  - I'm smooth af on that now
  • Get into my first Relationship -No luck, Tinder has been meh
  • Cook for a Group of Girls - Nope for this
  • Make some music Mashups - This is scrapped.
  • Play some more Steam Games and Finish at least 2. Now, I have work on this one but I've got to upgrade the CPU or add a GPU and lose the capture card, the G3900 isn't coping anymore.
Also its been a fun month, i've spend nearly £300 incl days out, food and rent and also made the effort in small doeses. Next month will be more than what i earn with he things i need to spend but the reasons are worth it. From reviews to maybe dates and days out. I'll see you in September

Go Dogwalking with omracer

This is just a quick blogpost on the recent craze of Pokemon Go, why. Well since its something to enjoy and also it might be tied into vlogs a bit more. So, it was released officially in the uk on Wednesday and well, its been everywhere, people getting robbed, people getting hype of Team Mystic or Valor, Muesums banning people, celebs having pokemon invade their Gym and more.

Since I can't get any vlogs done until Saturday 16th for the Carnival vlog (Which was going to have this featured in the blogpost but its too long so nah). But here is a typical dogwalking with omracer blog featuring catching them.

Time to GO dogwalking.

We started out from home and walked down to monksmead and down to Morrisons that route, there was some pokemon along the way, catching them was tricky while keeping Rosie on the lead when she bites the shoe.

We started to GO.

It was soon by the Canal by a first gym. Which, since I was on level 4, I couldn't access it yet. By a Staryu appeared.

The path with the canal on the right and the college on the left

And walking between The college and Morrison's, I saw a mate of a old school mate and then he showed me some High CP Pokemon, there was also a note that Level 12 gives Masterballs which are stronger Pokeballs and then he walked on and I was on the same path. But, it was soon time to approach the Red and Black football club which had a NCN Route 27 Sign as a Pokestop, which was handy since I needed to get some more Pokeballs. But connections were at a whim which means I Didn't get any Pokeballs. There were kids hanging around with muffins (cake ones) and getting things while using Pokemon Go.

As I reached the road after the Bridge, a hypnotic Pokemon appeared and I managed to catch it. With then carrying on to morrisons which did have some possible sightings at a car park which got me to near the level 5 point. But since the battery was at 12% on my phone, I stopped using it and carried on walking on the main road (well the route, not the actual road itself). By this time, I FINALLY REACHED LEVEL 5.

Finally Level 5

Soon It was coming near the Meadows where 3 Pokestops were upon me. One for the Meadows, one for the Subway (Lighthouse Memorial) and one for Drakes Statue. I managed to get all three but the connection on their end was glitchy when getting the subway one.

The Meadows

Then I walked on back to the Spar, which was also near a Gym, which then a big choice of which Team I had to make was happening. Team Mystic, Team Instinct or Team Valor,
The Gym
So, I chose Team Mystic, Team Blue and then it was done, the Goal was Blue and I was ready to explore this Gym. Since it was 9pm, I decided not to battle, but some kids sat down by the bench to enter the Gym.

It was then a case of walking back home, with Rosie Biting my shoes as per usual and then it was time for relaxing and a bath which was nearly 2 hours (to check snapchats and setup my mum's old phone which was my first Paris since she went for a weaker Galaxy J6 which was buggy and laggy and all she needed to do was get a sim only contract from tesco, which is £9 a month + £87 for the phone.

And then it was time to finish off and Prepare for a Carnival which was ruined in the beginning of the day...

An Afternoon of Rambling

This is a quickie, well it was nearing the end of a quiet week of work and preparing for things that are much interesting for both myself and you very soon. Now that I can't say much of yet but i'm excited for some of it. But well, we can see what happens then. But this is basically a quick peek at Dartmoor, which  I live close to and is more vast then people realise. But enjoy a montage of it below:

The first walk.

Now it was about 1pm and me and the parents and Rosie, got in the car and drove to a car park very close to Princetown, which is an isolated village host to a prision and some chavs and some cafes. But the route has many car parks and laybys which you can park then just walk in vast moorland which is nice in the right conditions. We stopped at one which is nearer the village and it has ruins in front of it. Which was of an school that was here many years ago. From there, we walked to get to the road to Yellowmead B&B. There were boggy parts, there was some paid for geocaches nearby, but we sadly didn't look for any. But before we got to Yellowmead and the Quarry, we had lunch since it was 1:30 after all.

Massive moorland views
A mini ham salad tiger roll and mccoys steak crisps, a nice combo.

Then we finished lunch, even though it was only that and some left overs from family, I felt sort of full, so then we walked the road to the quarry, which was actually recently re-layed until the farmhouse then it was broken up mostly, very bumpy for biking to put it simply. Soon, we reached the Quarry, which was pretty well shown, with the mounds on the right looking like a natual pier nowhere near the ocean to the rocky path to a shallow pool which is freezing to swim in yet so tranquil. Rosie was feeling the heat there when we stopped to adore the view.

The B&B and the pier looking mound of solid granite rubble

A look to the former quarry
The shallow pool to make it look like a hidden oasis on the moor

As we then carried on, the path ended to the former Railway between Princetown and Yelverton which was a slight gradual but very curved route, and as we got there, 2 cyclists were talking and their we thought was dog was around and started to approach us, but it didn't and carried on, even though it did notice us, it just walked. We were unsure since that could be pretty deadly with a dog as strong as what this one looked like, even though it and Rosie had similar colours. This was a flat but windy path to follow before it was near where we had parked and started.
The views from where the path crossover

A look back at the quarry and the TV mast

Looking to where we started on the opposite side
As we walked off the path and back, we saw that dog follow us slightly but still minding its own business, mum was wanting to call the person on its collar but we eventually just walked on, since it wasn't acting lost as far as we knew. But it was then getting to a river to cross and as rosie was near it, she tried to jumped and fell partly in which was the 1st splash of the day.

The place we parked.

Then we got into the car and drove to Pork hill, which is the famous car park for ice cream and long views from high up.

An ice cream break.

Now as we parked by some car in Pork Hill, it was actually one of the buisiest times i've ever seen it to be, with rows of cars and queues of people heading up to buy from a Willy's Van, yes the firm that sells ice cream is called Willy's. As we were waiting to get one, (i was in the car), a coach bus attempted and actually parked in which would of made even longer queues and even more money for ice cream. But then dad bought ours back and Rosie decided to sit on my lap, actually she was standing which was ok. Slurping a Apple refresher, even when the label is actually saying Cider (why the hell would one ice cream shop sell cider ice lollies, that would cause some massive legal stance of booze etc. But rosie was getting some of her mummies ice cream to lick off her finger, she liked that.

A blurred closeup of Rosie

She does not know how cute she can be sometimes

trying to take a pic of the Refresher Ice Lolly while rosie was on my thighs still.
Then the 2nd quicker walk was about to begin.

The 2nd Walk

Now this was a quicker one, but we left the car and most of the tourists from the coach were playing football and Rosie tried to chase the ball but when I pulled her on the lead, she went for the shoe yet again. This will never stop sadly. But we walked on some tracks which lead us down towards a granite fence which then we went left which takes us to a leat, now this leat is actually a leat that goes down stream from a spring and then is drinking water for Tavi, since there is a Cross and a sign that says "Drinking Water, DO NOT POLLUTE" which is quite clear, even though the water is treated downstream anyay. But it was family pictures and it was also funny that Rosie tried to jump accross and I went "OH SHIT" and nearly fell in the leat, well, its not deep but you could sit down in it and have the legs deep. But luckily that didn't happen.

Moor stunning views (get it)

Alot of goss around as we see stunning views

The Leat and the mini waterfall it has when it splits

Then as we carry on, following the leat, I get rosie near it to see if she wants a drink, which she tried to jump and I pulled and she made a splash which was a laugh, then we carried on following it until we saw the road, which was then a case of turning left and walking up to the Pork hill car Park again. In total it had taken us 40 minutes for this which is pretty good going. But there was a point in the sky where airplane trails had crossed each other, making X all over the sky.

The X in the Sky

Looking towards the moor as we made our way back to the car

By about 4:50, we were back at the car and ready to drive back, with the sun shining and some heat around, it was a nice end to a nice exercised afternoon. Then coming back home to a smell of a roast is always amazing.

Well that is that, Next week will be some possible important events, like a first night out of the year nearly 7 months since the Nights out during September and there is a special Suprise unless you have me on snapchat which you might of already found out.

Cheers for now

A Bere September Walk

With this september feeling much less than sensational, i ended up being a +1 for my parents and we walked the dog on a day trip, we originally planned to go to lopwell dam but the tide was past the highest at the time, so we managed to go to Bere Ferres instead, we went via vinegar hill and ended up parking at the playing field then walked into the village.

The recreation/playing field

Walking along the estuary

The route to the pub

Then my parents, Rosie and myself sat in this beer garden for the Old Plough inn and then i went in to order and just as I was getting a menu, i was right next to a customer I served a few weeks ago and they said their computer was working fine, that was a good sign but then a slim blonde with cute freckles and looked younger than me and shorter, she handed me the menus. Then we ordered, it came to £38.40 in the end., They had ploughman with brie and bacon and i had a 1/2lb burger with chips, gherkin and coleslaw. Oh and  me and mum had lime pints and dad had a Devon dumpling larger.

My meal, they burger and chips
Then after nomming and relaxing and a mini dog walk, we left at 2:30 and decided to have a walk further up the estuary towards lopwell dam, there were some good sights and muddy paths. It was about 1.9 miles and that was there and back again, to the car, the heat was sesnsational and parents were admiring the old house views of where people lived and so on.

The route we walked

Then it was towards half 3 and we decided to head off to nans to a catchup then get home, it was nice to listen to gossip from family up north as well as playing fetch with Rosie and her being lazy to bring back the ball.
My nans Garden

Finally we left and it was a relaxing evening and it turns out i'm now 180.4lbs, thats a 3-4lb gain since the last time i weight myself, to be honest this is the 2nd biggest I've ever been and its interesting that family are picking up on how big i might be getting, ok I'm not gaining on purpose here but looking at the numbers since joining feabie is showing that it DOES make you fat, well a social network of bigger people means members might gain from using the site, this is sort of proof. Also a feeder that is in Plym uni for this term/semester looked at my profile, but this means i'm defiantly not the only feeder in Plymouth.
The new weight

Well now this might be quiet until Thursday, well actually its Emma birthday but the chance to win her heart is out the window so making an effort for her birthday is more pointless and just causes memories flux in emotion but i have my mum's birthday so meh, Maybe I'll vlog but maybe I might not. Anyway enjoy your weekend and early week.
